Look of the Day – One night in Paris

Yesterday I had a bit of a catastrophe, I wore my entire shoe folder! After spending most of the day taking off shoes I finally got myself sorted out and put together this outfit.

I started with the Thecla boots from lassitude & ennui that were one of my Shoe Fair purchases, and this Eglantine jacket from the Secret Store. The charcoal version was their Lazy Sunday item this
week. If you hurry you can still scoop it and the Embroidered flare pants for just 75L each.
The jacket has a mandarin collar and stripe detail, sculpted flower and buttons in white.

This close up shows of the details of these gorgeous boots. I love the heel, the buttons and the damask pattern on the foot. The stitching on the leather toe cap and calf  is an especially nice detail. Honestly I could have bought out their whole booth at Shoe Fair if I’d had more lindens!

I headed over to the newly reopened Cupcake sim to take some pictures. It’s beautifully done, although I was so laggy with the shadows enabled that I didn’t explore too much. I’ll have to go back when more shops have moved in.

Look of the day: winter warmth, recycled.

Our store is participating in 2 Christmas events that both start this weekend, The Snowflake
Experience and the For the Love of Ice Festival. We’ve all been running in circles trying to
get all of our projects done, and while I am far from done I realize it’s been a while since I posted.
So I decided to do a quick look of the day.

The Highlands was hit by a blizzard this week, and that, coupled with the wintery / holiday events
going on has me in the mood to bundle up. I was actually looking for an outfit for a vendor
picture and I dug out some things I picked up last year that I still love.

My hair with toque from fri.day was the first thing I thought of, then I grabbed this Winterstock
sweater from Artilleri, a pair of my favourite jeans from Armidi and these great ankle boots
from Coco.  They were a group gift last Christmas, and the black is still available on their gift wall.

My skin is Joy from Très Blah at the 111 event. This one is sold out but there are still some of the
other 2 skins available.

Ok, back to work!  Hope to see you at the Snowflake Experience or the Ice Festival this weekend!

2010 Shoe Fair of SL ends today 6pm!

Today is the last day of the 2010 Shoe Fair of SL. We are 80,000L short of the 1 million linden goal that we had hoped to reach for the charity Soles4Souls. The sims will close today at 6pm SL time, so if you haven’t been yet, please go, buy some shoes, or even donate a few lindens if you can. This is a really great cause and you can pick up some fabulous new footwear while doing good, it’s a win-win!

Shiny Happy Shoes! – New Zimmy flats

Like so many other SL fashion junkies, I was thrilled to hear a few weeks ago that Fallingwater Cellardoor of Shiny Things was back after a long hiatus from Second Life.  Her first shoe release is out now and I am in love! The Zimmy flats are gorgeous, beautifully made and textured, with a bow that clicks on on off.  Fallingwater has put out a gift of the Faded Denim colour for members of the Subscriber or the in world group, too!

Check out all the colours and the styling details after the break! Continue reading “Shiny Happy Shoes! – New Zimmy flats”

Accessory Fair 2010 – Ticky Tacky

Accessory Fair ends tomorrow, so if you haven’t been, now is the time to get over there and see all of these amazing designers gathered in one place.  There is so much to see, so many pretties with which to adorn your avatar!

One of my favourite stores is Ticky Tacky, and I am proud to call designer Narita Rayna my friend. One of the reasons why I love her jewellery, is that it is very much the kind of thing that I make and wear in real life. The four necklaces shown above are from Ticky Tacky’s latest releases. Available in a choice of colours and metals, any of them is a great addition to your wardrobe. Throw them on with jeans to go shopping, or dressed up to party.

Clockwise from top left: Tourist Trap in Bordeaux, includes earrings, bracelets and several necklace options in gold with lots of colours to choose from.  The Ex-Stripper necklace and cocktail ring comes in gold and silver and a variety of stones. So pretty! (shown in Ruby and Silver).  Momma was an Opium Smoker is my all-time favourite of Narita’s. In gold and silver, with soft pastel crystals and beads. I love the wire work on this, so delicate, I am wearing it in Silver / Rose. There are 2 lengths of the necklace and earrings to match. The Viva necklace is a waterfall of beads and chain, choose your chain and bead colours to complement your outfit. (shown in Silver /Black)

Visit her mainstore on Horst or check out her booth at the Fair before it ends. Go back often too, because Narita plurked that she has been working on even more new releases! I can’t wait.

Hair: fri.day – Marie (Dramatic Red)
Skin: Belleza – Alyson (Pale 5)
Nails: MStyle – Perfect Hand
Clothes (clockwise): Armidi – Sunset Boulevard dress (white), Tres Blah – Neato Sweatshirt, G*Field – minidress (pink), Whippet and Buck – Ruffles and Ribbons dress (black)

Accessory Fair 2010 – Custom Eyewear

Creator Gospel Voom has become well known for amazing sculpted objects, making everything from coffee makers to shoes, watches jewellery and furniture. Custom Eyewear is his line of sunglasses, available at his store and at the Accessory Fair. In fact, Gospel will be releasing 2 new styles at the Accessory Fair by this weekend. If they are anything like as nice as the 2 pairs I am showing here, they are not to be missed!

Glasses come with your choice of texture sets. I am wearing the Butterfly in [Model] texture set in the top image, this set comes with a choice of textures that include tortoiseshell, zebra and black. Lenses are also texture change, with a choice of colours, mirror, and opacity.

One thing I have never seen before is that you can purchase a respray. This is basically a texture updater, so that you can add colours to the glasses that you buy. The resprays are designed to work with the style you choose. In the lower image I am wearing the Smooth and you can see me trying out the resprays in red and turquoise. Of course you can change the lenses after rather than having them the same colour as the frame. It’s a really cool system, giving you the option to buy an extra colour without buying a second pair of glasses.

Now I just need to decide which colour of cappucino machine to buy! Happy shopping!
