Just a few new things that I’ve picked up lately. RL commitments sometimes make it hard to blog all the lovely things I pick up at sales and special events in SL. Today I have a few things from Collabor88 and the Saturday sale.

On the left from the Collabor88 August round. It’s Collabor88’s 8th Anniversary and the theme is Stardust. I scooped the Posh Dress from Pixicat in this black and silver stripe. For accessories I grabbed the Kiko shoes from Ingenue in Noir, and added jewellery from Yummy and LaGyo.

The Galaxy rings from Yummy include a hud with 3 metals and 6 gem colours, as well as the ability to turn the rings on or off. (see close up below) I’m also wearing the Stardust necklace from LaGyo. This comes in silver or gold (sold separately) with options to wear the necklaces individually or as a set, and a hud with 8 colours for the choker ribbon and 8 gem colours. The Brianna hair from Wasabi has a styling hud as well as options to mix and match the barrettes, I bought the blonde pack which has 10 shades, and the same 10 with roots. I enhanced my look with eye and lip makeup from Cazimi and basic black nails from my Maitreya Lara hud.

In the outfit on the right I’m wearing the V Neck sweater from Tres Blah which is out now for the Saturday Sale, just 75L per colour. I bought Teal (shown) , Grape, and Black (of course). I also bought the Otreya sandals from Gos in silver at this week’s sale. (also available in gold and rose gold for 75L each).

I chose the Elixir hair from Truth which I love. I prefer a side part and this casual messy bun is perfection. I chose the Selection pack which includes 32 colour options, 16 naturals, 8 colours, 8 with roots. The stylist is incorporated into the colour hud and you can choose left or right side swept bangs, a centre part, or no bangs, as well as turning the wisps on and off.

This Solar System necklace and earrings set is from Yummy, it was from July’s Collabor88, and the HUD includes 3 metals and 6 choices of colour combination. I love Yummy jewellery so much, I can’t resist when Polyester Partridge has a new release!

I enhanced my favourite Pink Fuel Emiri skin with the Space Unicorn makeup from Alaskametro (lips and eyes) as well as the Beachcomb nail appliers, also from Alaskametro.

Making a new home in Second Life

Since I’ve been back in Second Life I’ve enjoyed getting back into decorating. I was living in skyboxes and smaller homes but I picked up the Barnesworth Anubis La Jolla House 2.0 at the June round of Collabor88 and I’ve been playing with decor in there ever since.

There are so many amazing stores for furniture and home decor in SL, and mesh has made it possible to get incredibly detailed objects that are still very low land impact.

Fancy Decor had a July sale and I scooped quite a few new things, including the Grantaire sofa and the table with frames seen above.

I love decorating with books in both lives, and I enjoyed styling these shelves from Fancy Decor with books and items from there and from Apple Fall.

Speaking of Apple Fall, last week he had a new release for Fifty Linden Friday and I brought home the Holyoke table and bench, Miami dining chairs, as well as the tray with books and nectarines and the sparkling waters. Now my terrace is a stylish place to sit and pretend to eat!

I don’t know why I need an SL bedroom, I never even sit on the bed! But it’s there so I styled it with some lovely items from Fancy Decor and Apple Fall. I put in the panelling over a window that faces directly at a neighbour. These more traditional furnishings are perhaps less suited to the modern lines of the La Jolla house, but the panelling and the long Charleston Curtains from Apple Fall make this sanctuary fit.

Trompe L’Oeil

I’ve been mostly MIA from SL for the past week with a nasty stomach bug that I’m still not quite over, so I’ve been wearing this for a week!

I bought this cute polkadot ruffled dress from Pixicat at FLF a couple of weeks ago, as well as these hot Khloe buckled platforms from Gos.

The hair is from Limerence, it’s the Samanta hair which I actually spotted on a FLF shopper and did a cheeky “inspect” to find the creator! I took a bunch of photos with various older necklaces from my inventory but then saw this Cherish pearl necklace from Michan at Flourish and retook the photos. Although you really can’t see in this picture I also picked up the Free Spirit rings from Yummy which are an older set but so gorgeous. I’ll take a close up with them for my next post because they really deserve a spotlight!

I headed over to Chouchou to snap some photos, and made a new pose that will be in my next release for Estetica.

Spice up your Second Life

Today’s ootd started with the Miri dress and fanny pack from Miss Chelsea at Equal10. I bought the black first, but as I was styling it I was feeling a 90s Spice girls vibe so I went back and picked up the leopard print, too. This dress comes in 8 colour or print options, and there’s a plaid shirt to tie around the waist, too. I went for the fanny pack in colour pack one because I always need to buy the black one.

I styled it with these chunky heeled, strappy Adelaide platform sandals from Essenz which are very similar to a pair I owned in the 90s! Although the heel on mine was much more blocky, and they weren’t as high because no way could I walk in these!

I needed some poses to complement the fanny pack so I made these 2. They are fitted to the Miri fanny pack but I tried them with one from Canimal too and they worked pretty well. I’m going to put the pair of them in the Estetica Mainstore as cheapies, L$2 for the pair.

Today’s outfit started with a trip to Truth to pick up this gorgeous Oasis hair (brunettes pack). As always the styling hud gives you great options, wear it with either side forward, or both back. Love the soft waves, and a side part is always my preference.

I picked up this beautiful Valentina E. dress at last week’s Fifty Linden Friday in royal, but it comes in many colours and patterns. Love the drape of the neckline flattering your décolletage, and the pencil skirt falls to a modest length just below the knee. I styled it with the Dale Heels from Ingénue that are available at the May round of Collabor88. For jewellery I chose the Levi necklace from Minimal, Metal Bangles from Schadenfreude (also at Collabor88 for May) and the Minimalist rings from Yummy.

I went looking for a photo location and found Missing Melody on the SL recommended destinations. There were quite a few people there taking pics!

Collabor88 May round

Collabor88’s May round is out and the theme is Southwestern Summer. I immediately scooped the Turquoise Stone set from Yummy. It comes with a multi-strand necklace and bracelet, and a ring. The colour change hud allows you to change the metal to gold or silver (ring and spacer beads) and there are 4 different stone options. I’m also wearing the bangles from Schadenfreude, there are 2 options, Metal Bangles, and Nugget Bangles. Each set comes with 5 different widths and there’s a hud with 5 metals, and 6 stones (for the Nugget bangles). Unfortunately you can’t see it well here so I took another photo on my building platform:

I also bought this beautiful hair from Stealthic, called Mirage. I go for the brunettes package as I really love this particular texture. It’s the lightest of the brunettes, the blondes are all very light to my eye. Love the high and low lights in this texture and the colour is perfect with my Pink Fuel skin.

At Très Blah I bought the Flared Jeans in Original Wash, and the Aspen tunic in black. The tunic comes with a hud to change the belt and bra colours. So many options. I love that. You can choose from 23 bra colours or hide the bra, and the belt comes in gold or silver buckle with 6 colours for the braided leather. Although you can’t see the bottom of the jeans here, they come in 2 options to wear with heels or flats.

I spent way too long looking for the perfect background. That’s the thing about blogging, it takes a lot of time. Not just the money and time to put together the outfit, but time to find a location and get the shot. My computer is on the older side, and it does struggle once the graphics are cranked up, which definitely prolongs the process. I ended up on the Baja Shore sim, these are rental sims but each has some public areas where you can take pictures. Just be careful not to infringe on the homes.

Mon Tissu is back! ♥

The May round of Fameshed kicked off with a bang! It’s the 7 year anniversary of the event, and tons of the creators have placed a gift for the members of the Fameshed update group.

Even more exciting to us oldbies is the return of Mon Tissu! I was sad to see that they were gone when I returned to SL after my 6 year hiatus. But creators Emma Gilmour and Julliette Westerburg (of Surf Couture and Très Blah fame, respectively) are joined by Apple Fall. What a dream team of creators! Their first collection is a little one, but includes the Lulu camisole and Daisy slacks, the Classic trainers, Signature handbag, and ❤ Sunglasses. All of the items are of course beautifully made and textured.

I headed to the Apple Fall mainstore to take a picture in my new things. I ended up outside the front door because my computer was struggling with all the textures once I cranked my settings up.

My pose is from one of the new releases at my reopened mainstore, modified by the bag hold.

Excitingly, Pose Fair opens tomorrow! I have a tiny little booth with 3 new exclusives, and my other 2 new packs are there too. Do stop by, and don’t forget to join the Pose Fair lovers group to pick up the free gift in my booth! My Mainstore is also open, with only 2 new pose packs, but there’s a TP to the basement with a bunch of old poses that have been permanently marked down!

Working on a thing…

I haven’t posted here because I’ve been hard at work making new poses for the rebirth of my store, Estetica. I’m planning to have it up with a minimal stock and a sale on pre-bento poses by May 1.

It’s been a lot of fun getting back into the swing of making new poses, and bento hands adds a whole new dimension. I forgot how long it takes to make a pose and have it work the way you want it too. A whole lot of testing on the beta grid to ensure it’s just right.

I’m having fun as usual buying new things to style the vendor pictures, too. But I haven’t been taking blog pictures the last few weeks as a result.

Tres Blah – Ella Dress (Collabor88 April)

Tres Blah released the lovely Ella dress for the April round of Collabor88 and I was lucky enough to win a fatpack! Designer Julliette Westerberg gave away 3 fatpacks to residents who liked and shared her FB post about the new release. Thanks so much, Julliette, it’s very generous of you! I had been struggling to decide which colour to buy, especially since I really liked the striped seersucker pink and blue which are only in the fatpack! There are 16 colours to choose from individually, and if you purchase the fatpack you get 10 more colours! The dress also includes underpants to preserve your modesty.

Since I had so many to choose from in the fatpack, I decided to make 2 looks showing how one dress can fit very different styles. On the left I went for a dark and edgy look and on the right a much softer style in shades of pink.

For the more gothic style I added the Ingenue Anna heels in Noir, which are also available at this month’s Collabor88 (12 colours, L$188 each) and on the right I picked up a former Ingenue gacha on the marketplace, these are the Carmen wedgese in blush. Likewise I bought both the handbags on the marketplace, they are former gachas from Zenith. The Leather bone handbag in grey from the Halloween dressing gacha is styled with the black dress, and the Spring rattan handbag in pink with the striped dress.

I finally made it back to the sale at Truth Hair (70% off!) and purchased the 2 styles above, on the left is Parker, which comes with or without a baseball cap, and has lots of styling options. On the right is Apple, which comes with the updo seen here, and a half updo, also with lots of options to change the bangs, wisps etc. I bought both in Multitone1 pack which I like because it has a great selection, whether you want to be a blonde, brunette, redhead, or have black or grey hair on a given day, the choices are there. With the sale the Multitone packs are L$120 which is a great deal. The sale runs til April 14th.

It’s all in the details and I chose jewellery from Yummy to complete both looks. On the left, the Enamel rose choker and earrings, which is hud enabled with 3 metals, 6 gem colours, and 6 rose colours, plus a multicolour rose option. Although they are are hard to see in the picture above, I also chose the Minimalist rings for the pink look.

On the right, I went with the Bang Bang choker from Yummy, this multilayer necklace has 4 metals and 6 gem colours in the hud. I added the Art Deco rings which also have 3 metal options and 8 gem options.

For skin and makeup, I went light on the soft look with my favourite Pink Fuel Emiri skin #16 (rare) in the crystal tone, with no added makeup. On the right I chose Glam Affair Mimi in tone 3 and layered on the Moody eyeshadow and lipstick appliers from Nylon Outfitters. I also grabbed the Shades of Red nail appliers from [Encore] on the marketplace since I wanted a deeper red than my Maitreya hud includes.
