Look of the day – beachy and breezy

Today’s look is inspired by my new land! I have a home again at last, on protected mainland water. So I was feeling fresh and beachy and I put together this look starting with the Breezy mesh shirt from E! Eclectic Apparel and Accessories. This short-sleeved open cotton shirt is great for layering and can be worn super casual as I have here, or with a nice wide trouser, pencil skirt or dress, for a business casual look.

As obsessed with mesh as I am, it’s great to combine new things with old favourites from your inventory. I chose the cafe shorts from Surf Couture since the colour looked good with the shirt, at least with my lighting. These Tennessee slip-ons from Reek are great colour-change flat espadrilles, ideal for a day at the shore. I’ve had these Gos sunglasses for 2 years but I wear them again and again. Love the colour / texture changing options that Gos products provide.

LOTD: Cowl neck sweaters, perfect for fall!

One thing I love about fall is cozy warm sweaters, especially cowl necks. I can’t stand turtle necks
but the soft folds of a loose cowl neck are so comfy. Today I have 2 outfits, both featuring new
cowl neck sweaters from two of my favourite shops in SL.

On the left is the outfit I was wearing around for a few days since I love this top so much.
New from Ingenue is the Aquarellist cowl neck top. Shown here in plum and paired with one of
my favourite Vintage Basics from Ingenue, the Memo tweed pencil skirt. Designer Betty Doyle
creates gorgeous clothing and shoes alike, these tops are an exclusive at her LeLook location.

On the right is the new Seasons.Sweater from fri.day. I love this so much. Well, I love everything
from fri.day. They are the kind of clothes I like to wear in real life. Funnily enough I bought a
cowl neck sweater in these exact colours in real life, a couple of weeks ago. So I had to have it!
I’ve paired it with some fri.day jeans, and these new Olea boots from Surf Couture. I feel cozy
and just a little bit country in this. Which is fun for kicking around my new island home.

I’m wearing two of the new hairstyles from the amazing Elika Tiramisu. I was so sad when she
closed down ETD but she’s back with gorgeous new hair and a new Elikatira [e] brand.
Mood, on the left, is the most perfect gorgeous sexy long hair I’ve ever had in Second Life.
I must confess I bought a few styles… just one other is Rush on the right, a slightly disheveled
short style that’s cute and casual. Love.

Surf Co. New Releases and the Tableau Summer Festival

Wow, Emma Gilmour has been hard at work and she has some gorgeous new releases to show for it! Some of them can be found on the new release wall at the Surf Co. mainstore, and even more at the Tableau Summer Festival.

I went back to Tableau 3 times yesterday, and each time I came away with even more beautiful things from the amazing Tableau creators. I made a whole bunch of looks. I apologize for the small pictures, check out my flickr to see the detail in a larger size image.

In the top left image I am wearing Bubbles Clawtooth’s new release the Femme Fatale bun. This hairstyle comes with a colour change headscarf and optional neck scarf. There’s also a version with a pony tail. You can’t really see but I am wearing a sweet little gold bow necklace from Yummy, my tank top and shoes are two of the Surf Co new releases. The Sundrop V-tank comes in a choice of colours, as do the Nantucket Spectators wedges. The black version of these shoes is for charity, I also picked up the brown and the navy, and I’m thinking about the olive and the red…

Top right I have on Surf Co.’s Hermana Tank in white, paired with her Summer of Stripes skirt in navy. Both available at the mainstore. The Nantucket Spectator shoes in navy and the Striped Tote bag from Tres Blah were both Tableau purchases.

Lower right I have on another one of the new tank tops from Surf Co. These Canvas Garden tops have a lovely prim flower piece on the shoulder and come in summery colours such as Tomato (shown). I paired it with the charity Shabby Chic hair flower from Clawtooth, and these Cafe Shorts from Surf Co. The yellow is called Sun Blast and is only L$1 at Tableau!

In the lower left image I am showing 2 looks, on the left the clothing and shoes are all from Surf Co.’s new releases, the Coastal Tank in red is layered over the Hermana tank again in white, and the Cafe shorts also in white. With the new shoelace sandals in red, and the Funnel Cake shades in white, I’m all dressed for Canada Day!
On the right I’m showing some of the many cheapies available at the Festival, the Breathe me hair from Clawtooth in Screaming yellow, Tres Blah Tableau Summer Festival raglan and the Surf Co. Cafe shorts in Sun Blast are all just L$1, as is the Tableau Summer Welcoming stick. The Tableau Monkey Drum Summer Summer Sunrise dance is just L$10 and when worn you shake the drum, then dance when you move your avatar.

Check out these amazing colour change sneakers by 2REAL Okelli. They come with a fabulously easy to use HUD that allows you to change the colour of all the individual parts. You can select how you want the laces (tied, tucked or loose) and pick from 15 colours and 5 patterns to completely personalize your sneakers. The sculpts and texturing on these are just incredible, down to small scuffs on the shoes.

Surf Co. New releases!

This week designer Emma Gilmour has some lovely new releases at Surf Co. The Sway sundress (shown in Garden) comes in 12 beautiful soft florals and features sculpted bodice and skirt. Worn here with the brass rings leather belt in brown, and Spring Fling wedges in Moss. The shoes come in 11 colour combinations, and the resize scripted belts come in 7.

Also new are the super cute Seaside one piece bathing suits, in 16 solid colours this suit has sculpted ruffles on the bottom and a keyhole back. Shown in brown, with the Clothbound Bow Belt in Garden. The only hard decision with this release is which colours to pick! Everything’s beautiful and you can find lots of great combinations to create outfits and to mix into your wardrobe.

Group Gifts and Newness!

Today’s post is a quickie of group gifts and newness! The skin worn in all 3 images is the new LeLutka group gift, join the group and check notices. The hair I am wearing is not free, but it is so cute and flippy! It’s the latest release from Flavor Designs, Sarah. I am wearing it in coal, it’s 99L a pack and there’s a great choice of colours.

The jewellery I have on is a sneak peek at some of the amazing new jewellery Narita Rayna of Ticky Tacky has been working on for the Accessories Fair 2010. The fair is coming up on March 6th and I am soooo excited. I know Narita has some beautiful new jewellery to debut at the fair, and there are 60 vendors participating so it should be wonderful!  These pieces are so nicely made with fine details, but to check it out you’ll have to hit up her booth at the fair! The accessories fair is produced by Glance International Agency.

Your Summer Dream – Surf Couture

One of the best things about Second Life is that no matter what the weather is like or where you live, you can always find a beach and soak up some virtual sun. Emma Gilmour is a designer who has made it her mission to provide cute clothes for SL sun worshippers. This week she has a new release out, a new bikini in 8 colour combinations, some really great denim shorts in 8 washes, and a unisex board shoe in a staggering 16 colours!

For my post today I am featuring the Moana Bikini in Ocean Flower, the Shack Shorts in Dark Grey, and the Boardwalkers Unisex shoes in Seagull. Check out my holiday snaps!
The bikini is super cute, not overly skimpy as some SL bikinis are, the shorts are a nice fit with a bit of adjustment on the leg prims to fit, easily done in a couple of seconds. I really really love the Boardwalkers though, the colour selection is fantastic, and as soon as I can narrow it down I’m going back for more! Head over to Surf Couture to get yours!

Look of the Day – Puddlejumping

Today’s look was all because of these lovely purple wellies! They will be a subscribo gift from A-Bomb tomorrow (February 13th) so get over there and slap the sub-o if you’re not already on the list. They are super cute, a special Valentine’s pair with hearts. There’s also a red pair with hearts in the store, and the regular Jenny wellies are only 150L and they’re colour change!

They inspired me to get out and dance in the rain with some sheep. I just need some puddles to stomp in now!

Surf Couture New Releases

Surf Couture has a new release just out, and as usual designer Emma Gilmour does not disappoint. The palette is fresh and ready for spring, with lots of greens, pinks, blues and lavenders.

On the left I am wearing the Slouchy Thread Sweater in Violet, paired with the new Belmar skinny jeans in Original. The jeans come in 8 washes and include the plain version worn here and one with a subtle polka dot. The floral sweater comes in 5 soft colours The Elsa boots were released before Christmas, but have become a staple in my wardrobe. The colour changing knit tops are great to mix and match. I have been wishing I had bought more than one pair in the anniversary sale!

In the centre image I have on the Rendezvous V Neck in Grey, these come in a rainbow of 14 colours and are a great basic top. I can see this getting a lot of wear!

On the right I am wearing the Havering Dress in Black Tie. This pretty dress has 2 skirt options, sculpted (shown) or flexi. I paired it with these ruffled flats which are a Surf Co. group gift.
The dress comes in 10 different colours, to suit your style and occasion.
