Look of the day – Happy Autumn

 

*waves frantically* Hey it’s been ages since I had time on SL – RL is all consuming at the moment.
In a good way,  though. I finally got some time and energy to log on and of course did a bit of
shopping!

My look of the day began with the idea of putting together a new fall outfit. I started off at
ColdLogic where I picked up this “farrell” top in coal. This is a layered shirt and sweater style,
which I love for these cooler fall days. I teamed it with the “giles” skirt in stone and these
great cable knit tights from Jane.

I accessorized with older items from my inventory, my favourite Curvacious boots from Gos,
a bag from The Secret Store, jewellery from Maxi Gossamer, and sunglasses from Mon Tissu.

We’ve had  a lot of grey days here lately, but today is sunny and clear. Happy autumn, everyone!

Bandana Day – Last Chance for Hair Fair 2012

Fameshed – e! Eclectic Apparel, Pink Outfitters, Wasabi Pills

June is the second month of FaMESHed. This event brings together creators of original mesh
items with new releases each month. I’m wearing 3 items from this round.

My hair is from Wasabi Pills. Claire is an elegant short hair style, with a side part softly
sweeping across the left eye. I went for the blondes pack for a change! Here I’m wearing Rye
which is a very light blonde.

The Violet Lace tank is from Pink Outfitters’ and comes in 8 colours. With a contrasting bow detail
on the front and a lace racer back, this loose-fitting mesh tank would work equally well with a skirt,
jeans, or shorts as I have done here.

e! Eclectic Apparel has released 15 colours of the new Millie shorts at Fameshed. These pinstriped
Bermuda shorts are great to mix and match for summer looks. Whether it’s a casual beach look,
or dressed up with a blazer and heels, the Millie shorts are a great wardrobe staple.

Chic 2 – Take 2: coldLogic, Wasabi Pills, Glam Affair

Also at Chic 2 I got this super cute new mesh hair from Wasabi Pills. Anais 2 is a long mesh
style with braids. Rigged mesh to move with your body is probably the best thing to happen
to long hair in SL.  I picked up the reds pack and I’m wearing Gingerbread.

I also scooped up this cute strapless summer dress from coldLogic.  Moody is a strapless mesh
dress with a sweetheart neckline, wide waistband, and softly draping skirt. I chose it in
sageblossom which is a predominantly pink and green floral pattern.

My skin is once again Glam Affair Mia – a Chic 2 exclusive. Mia combines elements of 2 recent
popular Glam Affair skins, Leah and Giselle. Available in Natural tone and with  6 eyebrow options.
With a nice smokey eye makeup and soft neutral lips and blush, this is a great staple skin.
Add different lip or eye colours to vary your look.

Eclectic Apparel for Chic 2

The Chic Management Second Birthday Event opened yesterday.  Each designer created
one new item, available exclusively at the Chic2 event which runs June 3 – 24th.
Happy Birthday to Chic Management and congratulations to Keira Seerose. Keira has been
bringing some amazing events to the grid for the past 2 years. It’s a lot of work to make a
successful event and Keira has done it with professionalism and grace.

e! Eclectic Apparel’s item is the Cheer outfit. This mesh outfit includes a sports bra and
straight-leg track pants. Available in white and black, with your choice of 16 different accent
colours. Great for your cheerleading practice, yoga or other workout, rigged mesh moves with
your avatar’s body. Free demo available, and in standard sizing so there’s sure to be one that fits.

The skin I’m wearing is Glam Affair’s Mia, also at Chic2 exclusively. This skin is in a natural tone
and features a soft smokey eye and neutral lips. A great staple skin.

For this event the build is in a circle, each store has a little cube to display their product
and they have gone all out decorating them.  Because the event is so contained, it’s easy to
stay in one spot and cam around to see all the cubes. But it is still a busy event, so shop smart!
Take off those prims, AOs and other scripted items. Pare down to system clothes, no one can see
your finery and people will just get cross if you add to the lag.

Look of the day: Vintage Polkadot

What with one thing and another, it’s been a long time since I’ve blogged. I didn’t realize how long until I opened WordPress to do this post. Life is good, but super busy.

For the last week I’ve been standing on my front porch in this outfit and I finally took pictures!

I’m wearing some of the latest mesh from e! Eclectic Apparel and Accessories. The Marion pencil skirt and Lola tube top came out last weekend. They are great pieces to mix and match, and when you put them together like this they make a sleek strapless dress.

Both pieces can be worn with other e! mesh pieces as well as other items from your wardrobe. It’s fun to mix it up and create new looks with older and new items.

I went for a bit of a vintage look with this Louise Brooks hair from Clawtooth by Clawtooth, and something about the polka dots and the slinky figure hugging look was just perfect with pearls and retro sunglasses from Donna Flora. I finished the look with this cute satin box clutch from Coco and the Alex t-strap heels from G. Field.

Look of the Day – One night in Paris

Yesterday I had a bit of a catastrophe, I wore my entire shoe folder! After spending most of the day taking off shoes I finally got myself sorted out and put together this outfit.

I started with the Thecla boots from lassitude & ennui that were one of my Shoe Fair purchases, and this Eglantine jacket from the Secret Store. The charcoal version was their Lazy Sunday item this
week. If you hurry you can still scoop it and the Embroidered flare pants for just 75L each.
The jacket has a mandarin collar and stripe detail, sculpted flower and buttons in white.

This close up shows of the details of these gorgeous boots. I love the heel, the buttons and the damask pattern on the foot. The stitching on the leather toe cap and calf  is an especially nice detail. Honestly I could have bought out their whole booth at Shoe Fair if I’d had more lindens!

I headed over to the newly reopened Cupcake sim to take some pictures. It’s beautifully done, although I was so laggy with the shadows enabled that I didn’t explore too much. I’ll have to go back when more shops have moved in.
